Competenz Print Scholarship 2014 winner announced

Matthew Devlin

Matthew Devlin from Orora Packaging in Wellington has won the Competenz Print Scholarship 2014. This covers the cost of the National Diploma in Print Industry Management, Level 5.

“I’m looking forward to studying the behind the scenes aspects of the business that I don’t see as a printer, and learning about new technology in the industry,” says Matthew.

Matthew has been in the print industry for just under half his life, starting as an offset printing apprentice and moving to a number of different roles including a sales account manager position.

“I’m looking forward to the future and a new challenge for myself,” says Matthew. “By doing a diploma in print management I will advance my understanding of the production process and learn about new developments and technologies that are occurring within the printing industry – benefiting both me and my employer.”

Matthew’s long term goal is to get into a management position at Orora Packaging, and with a Diploma to help him, he’s sure to be one step closer to his goal!
